Cox, Violet Lee Turpin

Violet Lee Turpin Cox, 94, of 2566 Julia Simpkins Road, Hiwassee, passed away Sunday, October 23, 2005 at Pulaski Community Hospital.

Born December 15, 1910 in Premier, West Virginia, she was the daughter of Dallas Lee Turpin and Hattie Bonds Turpin. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hiram Wirt Cox and also a sister, Freida Cox and one brother, Dallas Turpin.

She was a Schoolteacher, homemaker, and friend of man.

Surviving children include James V. Cox and wife, Lillie of Crimora, Va., Dallas Cox and wife, Betty of Dublin, Steven Cox and wife, Sue of Hiwassee, Hattie Haulsee of Hiwassee, Lutitia Tallant and husband, Stanley of Blacksburg, Beulah Ziegs and husband, Ed of California, Mo., Freeda Clevinger and husband, Larry of Pulaski; sixteen grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; and sister Beulah Browdy of Radford.

Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday 11 a.m. at Bower Funeral Chapel, Pulaski, with Rev. Leslie Shelton officiating. Interment will follow at Shiloh Cemetery, Pulaski County. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6 until 8 p.m. at Bower Funeral Chapel, Pulaski.
