Thelma Hawkins Cox, 90, of Huntington, W.Va. and formerly of Blacksburg, Va., died on Tuesday, December 18, 2007. The Lord has called home one of his most perfect angels.

She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her daughter, Martha A. Lambiotte and special son-in-law, Tom Lambiotte, of Huntington, W.Va., with whom she lived for the last eight years; grandson, Jay B. Lambiotte, Rachel; and great-grandsons, Jason and Chad Lambiotte, of Proctorville, Ohio; granddaughter, Julie A. Oakes; great-grandsons, Brady Oakes and Ryan P. Oakes and his wife, Mandi; great-greatgranddaughter, Jordyn Oakes, all of Indian Trails, N.C.; granddaughter-in-law, Kim Lambiotte, of Huntington, W.Va.; stepgrandchildren, Benjamin Crumpacker and Carol Crumpacker Beetz; a special niece, Lynn Cooper and husband, John; and their twin daughters, Jennifer Cooper of Rocky Mount, Va. and Johanna Merritt and husband, Owen, of Roanoke, Va.; the Cox nieces and nephews of Dublin, Va.; and a very special friend, Helen Hutton of Covington, Va. Formerly of Blacksburg, Va.,

Thelma was born December 20, 1916, a daughter of James B. and Bessie Keffer Hawkins. She was preceded in death by her parents; her infant twin brothers; her sister, Frances (Patsy) Snider; Thelma’s husband, Zeb V. Cox; her former husbands, Burnice (Bud) Jones and William L. Crumpacker; and grandson, James T. Lambiotte.

She was a deputy treasurer and bookkeeper for the town of Blacksburg, Va. before joining the staff of Lewis-Gale Hospital of Roanoke, Va. from which she retired after more than 30 years of service. She was a member of the Luther Memorial Evangelical Lutheran Church in Blacksburg, Va. and a member of Ingles Chapter No. 96 Order of the Eastern Star, and most importantly, a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother to her family. To know her was to love her.

Funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, December 22, 2007 at McCoy Funeral Home Chapel, Blacksburg, Va. Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. prior to the service on Saturday. Burial will follow in Westview Cemetery.
