Curtis Franklin Cox, Sr., 76, of Chester, Va. and formerly of Pulaski County, died Saturday January 28, 2006 in Richmond.

Born July 26, 1929 in Pulaski, he was the son of the late Susan Duncan Cox & George Cox. He was a retired employee of Allied Chemical Co., and a veteran of the U.S. Air force.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Lois Bryson Cox and eight other brothers and sisters. He is survived by three daughters: Brenda Cox Bracey of Chesterfield, Linda Cox Graybill of Roanoke, and Sandra Cox Blount of Henrico Colo.; one son, Curtis F. Cox, Jr. and his wife Lisa of Missoula, Mont.; one brother, Ben Cox of Prince George; one sister, Evelyn Jolly of Black Mountain, N.C.; a very dear friend, Joseph L. Gomer of Henrico Colo.; also survived by six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday January 31, 2006 at 11 a.m. at Thomas M. Seagle & Sons Funeral Home . Interment will follow in the Thompson Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Flowers will be appreciated, but for those who wish, they may make memorial contributions in Mr. Cox’s memory to any local charity of choice.
