Rosa Lee Cox, age 85, of Rich Creek, VA, passed away on Wednesday, March 4, 2020, at the Carilion Giles Community Hospital in Pearisburg, VA. She was the daughter of the late Floyd and Mary Wilburn of Narrows, VA. Rosa Lee was a member of the First Baptist Church in Rich Creek, VA. She never met a stranger and had an infectious laugh that would bring joy to everyone around her.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, George L. Bradley and Mack G. Cox; and four siblings, Louise Trent, W.C. Wilburn, Clovis Wilburn, and Robie Wilburn. Survivors include three children, Trudy McCarthy and husband George of Lake Monticello, Palmyra, VA, David Bradley and wife Jeanette of Raleigh, NC, and Jackie Porterfield and husband Daryl of Peterstown, WV; two grandchildren, Carrie and Bradley Porterfield; six great grandchildren, Sydney, Connor, Jackson, Ariana, Biana, and Layne; one great great granddaughter, Annlea; four siblings, Ellen Shires of Rich Creek, VA, Marshall Wilburn of Bland, VA, Barbara Wilburn of Pearisburg, VA, and Larry Wilburn of Christiansburg, VA; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the Carilion Giles Community Hospital for their care, love, compassion, and support. Also, many thanks to Heritage Hall Rich Creek whose staff and residents had truly become a part of the family over the past two years. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made in Rosa Lee’s name to Heritage Hall Rich Creek (P.O. Box 327, Rich Creek, VA 24147).

A time of fellowship and sharing memories will be held from 3:00 PM until 6:00 PM on Friday, March 6, 2020, at the Appalachian Christian Center, located approximately 2.2 miles north of Peterstown on U.S. Route 219.
