Cox, Rachel Howell

Rachel Howell Cox, 91, of Pilot, passed away Saturday, July 26, 2008 at Skyline Manor in Floyd.

She was a member of the Church of God of Prophecy in Radford. She was born May 9, 1917 in Radford the daughter of the late Walter Bolden and Grace Myers Howell. She was preceded in death by her husband Troy Franklin Cox and two sons, Bobby and Andrew Cox.

Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Ruth and Jack Alderman of Indian Valley; a son and daughter-in-law, Tommy and Jackie Cox of Indian Valley; six grandsons and their wives, Steven and Connie Cox, Jerry and Nancy Alderman, Andrew Cox, Jason Cox, Adam Crawford, and Troy Cox; two granddaughters and husband, Sharlene and Jimmy Caldwell, and Dorothy Cox; and four great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 29, 2008 at 2 p.m. at the Church of God of Prophecy in Radford with the Rev. Cecil Frazier officiating. Interment will follow in the West View Cemetery in Radford.

The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family requests that contributions be made to the Christiansburg Rescue Squad. The Cox family is in the care of Mullins Funeral Home & Crematory in Radford, www.mullinsfuneralhome.com.
