Cox, Michael Duane

Michael Duane Cox, 67, of Pulaski, died Saturday morning, November 28, 2015, at Lewis Gale Hospital – Pulaski. He was born on April 9, 1948, in Pulaski County, and was the son of the late Albert S. (Bert) Cox and Leauna Meredith (Una) Cox.

Mike was a Past Master of Pythagoras Lodge #239 A.F.&A.M. of Pulaski, as well as the Shriners, was a veteran having served in the United States Army, was a lifelong member of the American Legion Post #7, and a former lineman with Appalachian Power Company.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Celen Cox Gross and Kathleen Cox; brothers, Tom Cox, Olin Cox, Kenny Cox, and Carl Cox. He is survived by his beloved wife of 46 years, Elisabeth M. (Liz) Cox of Pulaski; a daughter, Claudia Cox-Butler and her husband, Kevin of Blacksburg; and a brother, Clyde Cox and his wife, Helen of Marion; and his three grandchildren who were the light of his life, Alexandra Elizabeth (Lexi) Butler, Cierra Paige Butler, and Caleb Wayne Butler all of Blacksburg; and a sister-in-law, Margaret Cox; and many beloved nephews, cousins and friends. A special thanks to Katrina and Jamie Lucas and Ronn and Jennifer Moore.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 2, 2015, at 2 p.m. at Seagle Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Highland Memory Gardens with Masonic Rites and Military Honors.
