Cox, Margaret Bland Young

Margaret Bland Young Cox, 80, died May 1, 2014, after a courageous battle with dementia. She was preceded in death by her mother, Hulda Bland Garrett; brothers, McGinis Bland, Robert Bland, Frederick Bland, and Donald Bland; husbands, Homer Junior Young and Kennard Cox; and daughter, Teresa Young Hale.

She is survived by her children, Charlotte Young Wymer (Billy), Jerry L. Young (Linda), Dean Young (Debbie), and Daniel C. Young (Larry Bilger); grandchildren, Juli Wymer, Amy Price (Troy), Kimberly Young Rush (Nathan), Richard Wymer (Michelle), Jason Young, Dewayne Hale (Tanya), Todd Jones (Connie), and Lyndsay Young (Dutch Devore); step-granddaughter, Jennifer Bugg (Johnny); and great-grandchildren, Landon Wymer, Layla Price, Gillian Hale, Kain Rush, Kenna Rush, Kraton Rush, Kade Rush, and Bentley Devore; step-great-grandchildren, Nichole Shelor, Michael Brightwell, Samantha Bugg, and Jonathon Bugg.

The family would like to extend our gratitude to the nurses and staff at Radford Health & Rehab for the excellent care and love they have shown “Granny”.

In lieu of flowers we ask that you plant a flower in your garden in her memory or monetary donations can be made to the ASPCA or Radford Health & Rehab Center.

The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, May 3, 2014, at Horne Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held directly after at 1 p.m. Interment will follow in Mt. View Cemetery, Vinton, VA.
