Leonard Oakley Cox, 75, of Riner, Va., passed away on Thursday, September 11, 2008. He was a Veteran of the Korean conflict.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann Howard Cox ,of Riner; one daughter, Virginia and Floyd Pinson, of Dobson, N.C.; one son, Leonard O. Cox Jr. and fiance, Janey Weddle, of Floyd; two grandsons; one great-grandson; one greatgranddaughter; five sisters, Bessie Handy, of Bassett, Ruby Wass, of Roanoke, Eunice Goff, of Michigan, Maxine Streetman, of Michigan, and Ruth Ann Miles, of Radford; two brothers, Douglas Cox, of Bassett, and Carson Cox, of Salem; and two special friends, Don and Louise Sumler.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, September 14, 2008, at Wood Funeral Home in Floyd with Pastor Raymond Martin officiating with interment in the Jacksonville Cemetery. Military Honors by the Floyd VFW Post #7854 and the American Legion Post #127. The family will receive friends on Saturday, September 13, 2008, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home in Floyd, Va.
