Elizabeth Hull (Sis) Cox, 84, of Morning View Drive in Pearisburg, Va., departed this life on Tuesday morning, November 25, 2008, at Giles Memorial Hospital in Pearisburg. Born in Bland County on October 11, 1924, she was a daughter of the late Harvey and Bertha Neece Hull. She was a devoted Christian and member of the First Church of God in Rich Creek. After her mother died at the age of 57, she became a mother figure to her many brothers.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband, Wayne H. Cox; and her brothers, James, Franklin D., French, Franklin L., Dan, Albert, and Charlie Hull. She leaves to cherish her memory her daughters and sons-in-law, Betty C. Johnson, of Pearisburg, Connie and Terry Hypes, of Greer, S.C., and Anna Lee and Mike Williams. of Pembroke; her six grandchildren, Shelley Johnson, Mickey and Suzanne Williams, Eddie Williams and fiance Beth, Daniel and Melony Hypes, Robert and Chrissy Hypes, and Joseph Hypes and Felisha; her four greatgrandchildren, Janna, Jonah, Meaux, and Grace; her five brothers, Dolph “Doc” Hull, of Rich Creek, Ralph and Linda Hull, of Pearisburg, Roger Hull, of Buchanan, Russell and Opeal Hull, of Buchanan, and Ronald Hull, loving brother and caregiver of 25 years, of Pearisburg.

Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. on Saturday, November 29, 2008, in the Kendall Funeral Home at 605 Snidow St. in Pembroke with Pastors Shahn Wilburn and Eddie Kendall officiating. Burial will follow in Birchlawn Burial Park in Pearisburg. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday evening, November 28, 2008, from 6 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that contributions be made to the Giles Rescue Squad in Pearisburg.
