Cox, Bettie Joanna

Bettie Joanna Cox, 79, of Montgomery County, passed away on Tuesday, July 7, 2015. Bettie was born on December 1, 1935, to the late Mason Howard and Gladys Gravely Lytton. She is preceded in death by her sister, Alice Scott.

She is survived by her loving husband of 26 years, Buddy Clark Cox; her daughter-in-law, Frances Simpkins; her brothers, Jerry (Loretta) and Gordon Lytton; her stepgrandchildren, Anthony and Cary Simpkins; and her stepgreat-grandchild, Braiden Hill.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, July 10, 2015 at the DeVilbiss Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. David Rose officiating. Interment will be private and follow at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, it is suggested that memorial contributions be made to the Alzheimer’s Association Southeastern Virginia Chapter, 6350 Center Drive, Suite 102, Norfolk, VA 23502.
