Cox, Bessie Hollandsworth
Bessie Mae Hollandsworth Cox, 87, of Riner, passed away Friday, November 21, 2014. Bessie was born May 18, 1927, to the late Clive and Ruby Quesenberry Hollandsworth. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her brother; Herbert Hollandsworth; sisters, Ruth Gallimore and Majella Myers and two infant brothers.
She is survived by her husband of 68 years, Bernard J. Cox; Children Brenda & Wayne Johnson, Sandra Rorrer, Donald & Debbie Cox, Wayne & Erma Cox; 14 Grandchildren including two special Granddaughters / Caregivers, Connie Crockett and Elizabeth Quick; 30 Great-grandchildren; 2 step-Grandchildren; 4 step-Great Grandchildren; Sisters June & William (Bill) Reynolds, Ardith Harris, Joyce & Donald Henley, and Joan Henley; Brothers Randolph & Edith Hollandsworth, and Larry & Sandra Hollandsworth; Many nieces and nephews and cousins; Special Caregivers Phyllis Donathan and Tara Smith.
A special Thanks to Home Instead Senior Care, Intrepid Health Care Services, and Good Samaritan Hospice.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 25, 2014 at the Valley View Primitive Baptist Church with Elder Raymond Goad, Elder Larry Hollandsworth, and Dr. Joel Burroughs officiating. Interment will follow in the Cox Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:00 – 2:00 p.m. prior to the service. In Lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Cox Cemetery Fund c/o Connie Crockett 6435 Piney Woods Rd. Riner, VA 24149.
