Alison Lee Cox, 43, of Blevins Road, Narrows, departed this life on Sunday morning, March 27, 2011. Born in Radford on December 15, 1967, she was a daughter of Charlotte Porterfield McMahan, of Newport, and the late Bobby McMahan.

Alison was a member of Bethel Chapel Church at Clendennin and a partner with her husband in operating Cox’s Decorative Concrete. She was a graduate of Giles High School and New River Community College.

She leaves to cherish her memory her beloved husband, David Lee Cox; her mother, Charlotte McMahan, of Newport; her son, Michael Cumbee, of the home; her stepdaughters, Jennifer Cox and Hayleigh Cox, both of Ballard, W.Va.; her sisters, Lori Porterfield, of Newport, and Teresa Zirkle and her husband, James “Country,” of Pembroke; her mother-in-law, Margaret Ellison, of Narrows; her sister-in-law, Laura Holdren, of Narrows; her niece and nephews, Maggie Holdren, of Narrows, Josh Holdren, of Narrows, and Dylan Johnston, of Pembroke; and her beloved dogs, Diesel and Pie.

Funeral Services will be conducted on Wednesday, March 30, 2011, at 11 a.m. in Bethel Chapel Church at Clendennin near Narrows with Pastor Eddie Kendall officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery at Narrows.
