It is with mixed emotions the family of Edward Kyle Counts, 68, of Snowville, announces his new address of #2 Gloryland Way. On February 3, 2006 he effortlessly moved into his new mansion that had been prepared for him. Its completion was in God’s perfect time.

We can only imagine what today’s activities include, but we are certain he will spend time at the feet of Jesus laying down the many crowns that were his reward. Other activities are certain to include singing praises to the Lamb, walking on streets of gold and greeting his parents and other brothers and sisters in Christ.

Even though this may sound like a busy schedule, we know he will feel none of the pain, sorrow, nor tears that he experienced during his 68 years on earth . . . only joy! By the way, that joy began at SON rise. He fought a good fight, he finished his course, he kept the faith.

He was a member of the Snowville Baptist Church and was a veteran, having served in both the U. S. Army and Air Force, and was a retired machinist with Industrial Drives in Radford.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Kathleen Counts and his brother, Leslie C. Counts. He was a loving father who is survived by his three daughters and sons-in-law, Rita and John Makhoul of Blacksburg, Rhonda and Albert Mah of Radford, Robin and Dale Brooks of Floyd; son Randy and Niese Counts of Parrott; children’s mother and stepfather, Faye and Don Martin; seven grandchildren, Austin, Kristen, Amanda, Andrew, Stephen, Helen and Christopher; three brothers, Billy Counts of Detroit, Mich., Bob Counts of Fairlawn and Jimmy Counts of Virginia Beach; also several nieces and nephews.

We will be celebrating his life as we receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, February 6, 2006 at the Snowville Baptist Church with a memorial service to follow at 7 p.m. with the Rev. Neil Wood and Rev. Doug Ballew officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to the Snowville Baptist Church Building Fund, 5296 Leadmine Road, Hiwassee, Va. 24347.
