Kendall Countiss, 91, passed away Wednesday, October 11, 2006 at his home in Fairlawn. He was born December 11, 1914 in Pound, Va., the son of the late Schyler and Mary Mullins Countiss.

He was a member of Fairlawn Baptist Church and was a retired electrician at RAAP with 27 years of service. He was a World War II U. S. Air Force veteran having served at Pearl Harbor and was a devoted VA Tech Fan. He was a member of the VA May Lodge #92 A.F. & A.M. He was preceded in death by a son, Robert Countiss, five brothers and three sisters.

Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Ella Mae “Flo” Countiss of Fairlawn; a son and daughter-in-law, David and Sandi Countiss of Fairlawn; a stepgrandson, Christopher Vest of White Gate; a stepgreat-granddaughter, Haley Nicole Vest; and his loving church family.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 14, 2006 at 11 a.m. at the Fairlawn Baptist Church with the Rev. Danny W. Collins officiating. Interment will follow in the Highland Memory Gardens in Dublin. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the church.
