Costigan, Laura Alice Jones

Laura Alice Jones Costigan, 85, of Christiansburg, Va., passed away after an admirable battle with cancer on Saturday, February 7, 2009. She will always be in our lives. She was a wonderful wife, mom, grandma, aunt and friend anyone could have in life. The daughter to the late George W. and Mammie Linkous Jones. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Jonnie E. Costigan; daughter, Janet Stump; and son, George Costigan. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Shirley and Phillip Gilley; son and daughter-in-law, Charles and Kathi Costigan; grandsons and their wives, Carlos and Tina Stump, Gregory and Brandie Stump, Jeffrey and Amy Stump; granddaughters, Cheryl Stump, Krystle Costigan, Charly Costigan and Peggy Costigan. She is also survived by her great-grandchildren, Michael Stump, Taylor Stump, Mason Stump, Mackenzie Stump, Macey Stump; two special nieces, Sue Luckado and Connie Krupa, whom she considered to be her daughters. Several other nieces, nephews, and a very special sister-in-law, Lucy Reed, and many close friends also survive. The family wishes to express their thanks to the Carilion Hospice Team, the staff of EHSS at Virginia Tech and the staff of BSI. The family will receive friends at The Horne Funeral Home, Tuesday, February 10, 2009, from 1 to 3 p.m. The funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday in The Horne Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Jerry Sloss and Pastor David Jones officiating.
