William Earl Copeland, 66, of Narrows, went to be with his Lord, while in the loving care of his family, on Tuesday, Jan. 30, 2007 following a short battle with cancer. He was born in Ballard on Oct. 7, 1940 to the late Junior Copeland and Mary Lester Copeland. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Earl “K.C.” Copeland, and a grandson, Jeffrey Clendenin.

He leaves to cherish his memory his devoted wife of 37 years, Shelby Millirons Copeland; three daughters, Donna Thomas and husband Zane of Narrows, Cindy Parr and husband Bernard of Peterstown, and Gwen Snow of Roanoke, Va.; one son, Nathan Copeland of Roanoke; two brothers, Darroll Copeland of Lumberton, N.C., and Ernest Copeland of Wilmington, N.C.; five sisters, Ann Denson of Taunton, Mass., Bonnie Tatum of Arizona, Maronia Hunt of Lumberton, N.C., Joan Oxendine of Lumberton, N.C., and Cathy Rego of Arizona; five grandchildren, Jason Clendenin of Narrows, Nikki Bailey of Christiansburg, Va., Natalie Hamilton of Silverstreet, S.C., Jodel and Phillip Parr of Peterstown; great-grandsons, Michael and Jayson Bailey and Shaine Hamilton all of Narrows. Other loving family members include brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, aunts and uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews; and, a very special friend Dean Trent of Narrows.

Funeral services will be held Friday, Feb. 2, 2007 at 2 p.m. at Cornerstone Pentecostal Holiness Church in Narrows with the Rev. Ken Butterworth officiating. Burial will follow in the Millirons Family Cemetery on Wolf Creek in Giles County. Nephews and friends will serve as pallbearers.
