cooksey judith aJudith A. Cooksey, 60, of Elliston, with much love for God and the people in her life, peacefully departed her earthly existence on March 29, 2012, at Roanoke Memorial Hospital. She was born in Narrows on August 7, 1951, to the late Elmer Ray and Janetta Warner Collier. After graduating from nursing school at Charlottesville, she pursued her nursing career, serving others with love, compassion, and a remarkable warm and friendly smile. She also was a very feeling person, who gave comfort which touched the hearts of many she served. She was survived by her companion and husband of 29 years, Heston Cooksey Jr.; her son, Mathew Kleene, of Roanoke; two brothers, Ray Collier, of Bristol and Kevin D. Collier, of Riner; and four nephews, Austin, Kyle, Stephen, and Andrew Collier. The family will receive friends Sunday, March 31, 2012, from 4 to 6 p.m. at the John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home, located at 305 Roanoke Blvd., Salem. Funeral Services will be at the same location at 11 a.m. on Monday, April 1, 2012. Special thanks to Doctors Brian S. Bolinger, Robert C. Keeley, and the professional staff of Roanoke Memorial Hospital. Also, thanks to lifelong friend, Mrs. Debbie Stafford, of Vinton, and all others for their prayers and thoughtful support.
