Cook, Rachel Doris

In loving memory of Rachel Doris Cook, 63, of Radford VA went to be with the Lord in her daughters arms after her brief struggle with cancer on Thursday, March 8, 2018. Doris had a heart a gold and loved her children and granddaughters with all of it. Doris did not just have 2 children she had lots. She always told everyone to call her momma and she loved each and everyone of them.

She was preceded in death by her son, Robert Weddle that she loved and missed so much; her soul mate and husband, David Cook; and her parents, Frank and Martha Hollins. She left us with wonderful memories, and lots to cherish for years to come.

She leaves behind her daughter, Christy Weddle; two beautiful granddaughters, Ally Weddle and Arianna Welch; her son, Kiley Joyal and his wife Samantha, and grandchildren Dylan Joyal and Kaitlyn Dunford; sister and brother-in-law, Mike and Betty Weaver; “special” sisters, DeeDee Weddle, Wanda Marsolek, and Maxine Shearing. She also leaves behind countless family, friends, and other children she called her own.

Services will be held at Horne Funeral Home on Saturday March 17, 2018. A gathering of family and friends from 2-4 p.m. and Memorial Service at 4:00 p.m. to celebrate her life with Pastor T. Michael Bond officiating.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the American Cancer Society or Horne Funeral Home for funeral expenses.
