Cook, Lucy

Lucy Cook, 99 of Dublin passed away March 22, 2020. She was born February 27, 1921. Lucy was a former employee at Ruitan National in Newbern, Va. Following retirement, she spent many years as a caregiver to her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Lucy had a great love for the Lord, her family, and people. She took great pleasure in sharing her life experiences, advice, and home cooked meals with her family. She played the role of sister and mother to many in the community and was well loved by all that knew her.

Lucy was preceded in death by her mother, Cornelia Cook; brother Frank Cook; sister Ella Mae Austin; daughter, Mary Montgomery; and daughter, Ruth Cook. She leaves to cherish her memory son, Charles Cook; daughter, Janie McClanahan and husband Ray McClanahan; six grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, four great great grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.

There will be a public viewing on Thursday, March 26, 2020 from 12:00PM – 1:00PM at Serenity Funeral Home, 248 Randolph Ave., Pulaski, VA. A graveside service will be held 1:30PM, Thursday, March 26, 2020 in Pinehurst Cemetery, Pulaski, VA.
