Elsie Virginia Dalton Cook, 90, of Pulaski, died on Wednesday, September 18, 2013. She was born on June 8, 1923, in Pulaski County, and was the daughter of Nellie Thomas Dalton and William Harless Dalton.

Elsie was a life-time member of Jordan’s Chapel United Methodist Church with over 60 years active membership. She served as children’s Sunday school teacher, was secretary to the administrative board, and was a member of the United Methodist Women.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Carlos Cook; brothers, Wilmer Dalton, Marvin Dalton, Cecil Dalton, Lowell Dalton, and Gene Dalton; and sisters, Emily Guynn and Aileen Kemp.

She is survived by son, Rodney Carlos Cook and wife, Susan, of Pulaski; daughter, Patsy Ashley and husband, Kenneth Sr., of Newport News; brother-in-law, Delmer Guynn, of Pulaski; sisters-in- law, Grace Dalton, of Rising Sun, Md., and Ann Dalton, of Pulaski. She is also survived by five grandchildren, Kenneth Ashley Jr. and wife, Kelly, David Ashley and fiance, Kristi Burroughs, Stephanie Krafft and husband, Chris, Bryan Cook and wife, Shannon, and Meredith Novak and husband, Steve; nine great-grandchildren, Kenneth Ashley III, Jackson Novak, Gavin Cook, Malcolm Krafft, Mason Cook, Ava Grace Ashley, Chase Novak, Samuel Krafft, and Elliott Krafft.

Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, September 21, 2013, at Seagle Funeral Home with the Rev. Scott Robertson-Gouge officiating. Interment will follow in Draper’s Valley Presbyterian Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 10 until the 11 a.m. service time.
