Dwight Cook, 74, of Christiansburg, passed away Friday, April 22, 2016 after a brief illness. He was a member of Heritage Church in Dublin and a U. S. Army veteran. Dwight was very involved with the Feeding America program, was an avid NASCAR fan, and loved to go fishing.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Ella Mae Brown Cook; parents, Rolce and Gaynelle Cook; sister, Nadine Turner; and brother, Mark Allen Cook.

Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Connie Cook of Radford; daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Rodney Shealor of Christiansburg; grandchildren, Stephanie Shealor, Caleb (Melody) Shealor and Logan Cook; great granddaughter, Lila Shealor; brothers and sisters-in-law, David and Mary Cook, Paul Cook, Rolce and Jeannie Cook and Mike Cook; sisters and brother-in-law, Barbara Walls, Vangie Musick, and Betty and Fred Davis; numerous nieces, nephews and many other relatives.

The family will receive friends from 1p.m. until 3 p.m. on Sunday, April 24, 2016 at the Mullins Funeral Home in Radford. Funeral services will begin at 3 p.m. with Pastor Michelle King and Rev. Rick Barton officiating. Interment will follow in Old Dublin Cemetery in Dublin.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Feeding America Southwest Virginia.
