Cook, Curtis Buddy

Curtis L. “Buddy” Cook, age 74, of Blacksburg, went to be with the Lord, Wednesday, May 10, 2023, at his home. He was born in Montgomery Co., Va., on January 14, 1949. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Harry and Laura Cook, his mother, Lottie C. Walters, his son, Tony Curtis Cook, and his brother Steve Walters.

Buddy was a member of the Blacksburg First Wesleyan Church and a proud Veteran of the US Army, having served in the Vietnam War.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Patsy Myers Cook; daughter, Melynda “Mindy” (James) Wampler; grandchildren, Ashleigh (Tyler) Roop, Erica Williams (Zach), Dakoda Barton, and Sierrah Barton; great-grandchildren, Asher and Presley; sisters, Shirley (Jerry) Hylton, Sandra J. Smith, Kathy (Mike) Dowdy, Carol (Wayne) Early; sister-in-law, Carol Walters, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be conducted Tuesday, May 16, 2023, at 1:00 PM in the Blacksburg First Wesleyan Church, with the Rev. John Hopkins officiating. Interment will follow in the Roselawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5-7:00 PM, Monday, May 15, 2023, at the McCoy Funeral Home, 150 Country Club Drive S.W. Blacksburg, Va.
