Cook, Bobby Allen

Bobby Allen (Cookie) Cook, 28, of Dublin, Va. died Saturday, May 23, 2009. He was born in Radford, Va. on May 3, 1981. He was preceded in death by his mother, Shelby Lynn C. Metz. He was also preceded in death by his grandfather, Leonard Bruce Whitaker, and by his grandmother, Earline Gillispie.

He was a sergeant in the United States Army having served in Iraq.

Surviving are his father Johnny B. Cook, special mom, Donna Duncan, grandmother Geraldine Whitaker, special grandpa Jimmy Duncan, daughter Lillian Bell Cook, special friend Amanda Ross, brother Josh Novotney, sister Courtney R. Duncan and Stacy Sarver, special aunt, Betty Lynn McCoy, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins & many friends, special friends Wess, Scott, Todd, Matt and Brian.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 28, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. from the Stevens Funeral Chapel, Pulaski with Rev. Ted Turner officiating. Burial will follow in the Newbern Cemetery, Pulaski Co. with Pulaski VFW Post #1184 conducting the military graveside rites.

Visiting will be Wednesday evening at Stevens Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Flowers are appreciated but the family requests that donations be made to Stevens Funeral Home, P.O. Box 32, Pulaski, Va. 24301 to help the family with funeral expenses.
