Connell, James Sheppard

James “Jim” Sheppard Connell, extraordinaire, passed away on Thursday, April 29, 2021 at Highland Ridge Rehab Center in Dublin at the age of 96. He was born on September 26, 1924 to the late Dare and Sue Sheppard Evans Connell.

A descendant of Adam Harmon, Jim loved to tell the story of Mary Draper Ingles and her escape from captivity by the Indians. It was always with a tear in his eye as he talked of her perseverance and strength as she made her way home to her family. Jim was generous to a fault, and never met a stranger and was always appreciative of any kindness shown him.

Left to cherish his memory is very special friend and devoted caregiver, Joy Huffman; as well as friends, Mike Huffman, Loretta Atkins, David Trump, and Guy Pidgeon. There are many other friends Jim made along the way that are too numerous to list.
