Conley, Ethel Wheeler

Ethel Marie Wheeler Conley, 82, of Narrows, passed away on Tuesday, May 31, 2011, at LewisGale Hospital Montgomery in Blacksburg. A lifelong resident of Giles County, she was born on September 13, 1928, and was the daughter of the late E.T. and Ethel Wilburn Wheeler.

In addition to her mother and father, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband of more than 60 years, Frank E. Conley; a sister, Georgia (Rosy) Turner; two brothers, Randall Wheeler and Allen Wheeler; and a sister-in-law, Joyce Wheeler.

Marie was a cherished aunt to many nieces and nephews, and a caring friend to all who knew her.

She is survived by three sisters, Shirley (Roy) Parcell, Carol Layman and Esther Hendrickson; eight brothers, Bill (Mary) Wheeler, Curtis (Juanita) Wheeler, Perry Wheeler, Harold (Judy) Wheeler, Robert (Anna) Wheeler, Virgil (Connie) Wheeler, Roger Wheeler, and Danny (Pat) Buckland; four sisters-in-law, Louise Wheeler, Barbara Wheeler, Bobbie Jones and Harriet Clark; and a special friend, Jane Lafon.

Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, June 3, 2011, in the chapel of Riffe’s Funeral Service in Narrows with the Rev. Leon O’Quinn officiating. Burial will follow in the Wheeler/Conley Cemetery, off Old Wolf Creek Road near Narrows. The family will receive friends at Riffe’s Funeral Service on Thursday, June 2, 2011, from 6 to 8 p.m.
