Comer Jr., Hunter D.
Hunter D. (Sonny) Comer, Jr., 72, of Christiansburg, went to be with the Lord Wednesday, February 28, 2007, at his home. He was born in Princeton, W.Va. on April 16, 1934 to the late Hunter D., Sr. and Anna Tuck Comer. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Anne Brown Eugene Price Comer and brother, Bob Comer.
Sonny always enjoyed being a vendor and meeting new friends at the Mayberry Flea Market in Mt. Airy, N.C., where he loved to sell his chickens and other livestock.
He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Ricky and Janet Comer, of Radford; two grandchildren, Caryl Anne and Kayla Comer; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Arjetta and Bill Caldwell, of Salem; sister-in-law, Kathleen Price, of Blacksburg; sister-in-law, Elizabeth Alls, of Blacksburg; two special nephews, Jimmy Alls and wife, Frances, Denny Alls and wife, Carolyn; two very special friends, Glenn Watson and Mike Frances; wonderful care was given by special nurses, Susan, Donna, and Shirley; we will be forever grateful for their compassion shown to Sonny; and a very special thank you to Barbara Alls.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, March 3, 2007 at 11 a.m. in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Ed Parks, the Rev. Keith Cox, and the Rev. Ryan Rose officiating. Interment will follow in the Sunset Cemetery. Friends may call anytime after 12 noon Friday, and the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday evening at the McCoy Funeral Home, 150 Country Club Drive, Blacksburg.
