Allen Jackson (Jack) Cromer, 84, of Jennelle Road, Blacksburg, departed this life Sunday evening, August 19, 2012, at his home in the loving care of his family. Born in Montgomery County on February 21, 1928, he was a son of the late Charles Edward and Lillie May Carter Cromer.

He was self-employed in the home construction industry, and could do all phases of the work, operating C & J Construction.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers and sisters and numerous other relatives. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 62 years, Zetta Poff Cromer; his son and daughter-in-law, Ricky Bruce and Marjorie Kaye Cromer, of Christiansburg; his daughters and sons-in-law, Joy and Bruce Jarels, of Blacksburg, Jean and Gary Songer, of Blacksburg, Tonya Kay Cromer, of Blacksburg; his eight grandchildren, his 16 great-grandchildren, his six great-great-grandchildren, and a host of friends and other relatives.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday, August 23, 2012, in the Parrott Church of God at Parrott with Pastor Kenneth Alley and Pastor Dewey Weaver officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Christiansburg. The family will receive friends at the church one hour before the services.
