Combs, Virginia Marie Lovern

Virginia Marie Lovern Combs, 93, of Christiansburg, died early Wednesday morning, February 18, 2015 in the Lewis Gale Hospital Montgomery. She was born in Radford, Va., on February 12, 1922 and was the daughter of the late Henry Lovern and Willie Tolbert Lovern.

She was also preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Combs; by a brother, James Lovern; and by two sisters, Elizabeth Lucado and Frances Wright.

Surviving are her children and spouses, Joyce and Bob Goad, of Dublin, Va., Joe and Donna Woolwine, of Roanoke, Va., Shirley and Patrick Lester, of Chesapeake, Va.; seven grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, February 23, 2015 from the Dublin Baptist Church with the Rev. Dennis Jones officiating. Burial will follow in the Southeast Virginia Veteran Cemetery, Dublin, Va. Visiting will be from 11 a.m. until the service hour on Monday, February 23, 2015 at the church.
