Collins, Patti Reed

Patricia (“Patti”) Ann Reed Collins, 74 of Pembroke, Virginia departed this life May 18, 2023 in the care of her loving family. Born in Virginia on December 31, 1948, she was a daughter of the late Claude and Vivian Lowhorn Reed.

By trade, Patti was a hairstylist. She enjoyed loving and being a caregiver for many, but her greatest love was her family. Her joy was found in flowers, being outdoors, or while camping in the mountains. She also loved to play softball (for Pearisburg Mitcheners) and working puzzles.

In addition to her parents, Patti is preceded in death by her sister, Paula Reynolds.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Jackie Collins; sons, Delbert Collins (Michelle) of Pembroke, Michael Collins of Pembroke, and Preston Goad of Fincastle; a daughter, Crystal Surface of Blacksburg; grandchildren, Duncan Collins, Savannah Gray (Matthew), Jordan Collins, Megan Hinkle (Jacob); Jeremy Collins (Morgan); Dylan Surface; Zoe Surface; Blake Surface; and James Surface; great-grandchildren, Ryker, Tuker, Madison, Lakota, Conner, Kyler, Pasilynn, and Callum; brothers, Pete Hobbs, and Danny Hull; sisters, Debbie Hull, and Wanda Hull; special friends, Shelia Collins, Becky Blevins, Dreama Williams, Timmy Radford, Angie Smith; and a host of other special friends.

There will be a Celebration of Life held in Patti’s honor on Sunday, May 28, 2023 at 2:00 PM in the Kendall Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Gary Poff officiating. The family will receive friends on Sunday, May 28, 2023 from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM in Kendall Funeral Home. A guestbook is available to send condolences by visiting www.kendallfuneralhome.com.
