Collins, Marvin Eugene

Marvin Eugene (Pee Wee) Collins, 59, of Tucker Lane in Newport, Va., departed this life on Tuesday morning, November 18, 2008, at Montgomery Regional Hospital in Blacksburg after a long illness. Born in Giles County on July 24, 1949, he was a son of the late Helen M. Collins.

PeeWee had been employed in custodial services at Montgomery Regional Hospital and at VPI where he had retired on disability. He was an avid sportsman, loved hunting and fishing and was looking forward to this years deer season. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

He leaves to cherish his memory a sister and brother-in-law, Deborah and Tucker Harvey, of Newport; two nieces, Kim Myers and Shannon Stump; great-niece, Haleigh Myers; great-nephews, Caleb Stump, Cullen Myers, and Mason Myers; and special friends, Barbara Lambert, Ronnie and Pat Caldwell, and Priscilla Soucek.

Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. on Thursday, November 20, 2008, in the Kendall Funeral Home at 605 Snidow St. in Pembroke with burial following in the Williams Cemetery at Hoges Chapel.
