James Collins, 84, of Roanoke, Va., passed away on July 4, 2009. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lois Collins. He is survived by his daughter, Shawn Collins Freeman; three grandsons, Sean Michael Collins, Marcellus Cordell Collins and Derek Deeshon Collins; several nieces, nephews and friends. The family will receive friends 10 to 11 a.m. on Tuesday, July 7, 2009, with a funeral service to follow at 11 a.m. at Horne Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be held at Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
