Collins, Hazel Ruth

Hazel Ruth Collins, 61, of Narrows, was called away to her Heavenly home on Thursday, February 27, 2014 at Carilion New River Valley Medical Center in Christiansburg. Ruth was born on March 7, 1952 in Radford to Buford and Mary Linkous. A member of New River Family Worship Center, Ruth loved the Lord and was a blessing to everyone she knew. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, and two brothers, Louis and William Linkous and a special aunt and uncle Sam and Jenny Price. Ruth leaves to cherish her memory the love of her life and husband of 40 years, Marvin “Buddy” Collins. A son Bill and wife Cassondra Collins of Bluefield, WV, a daughter Jennifer Adkins and fiancé Harvey Waddell, JR. of Pearisburg. Three Grandchildren Arabella Collins, Brendan Adkins, and Ronald Copeland, III. Brothers and Sisters Alice Linkous of Narrows, Bessie and husband Aubrey Price of Blacksburg, David and wife Marie Linkous of Rural Retreat, Raymond and wife Jean Linkous of Blacksburg. Memorial services will be conducted Saturday at 12:00 noon in the New River Valley Family Worship Center at 127 Clendennin Road, Pearisburg with Pastor Mark Sack and the Pastor Eddie Kendall officiating. The family will receive friends at the church one hour before the services and wants to invite everyone for fellowship after the service at the church. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to New River Valley Worship Center, 127 Clendennin Road, Pearisburg, VA 24134.
