Floyd Henry Collins, 77, of Christiansburg, formerly of Charlottesville, Va., passed away Saturday, May 3, 2008, in a Charlottesville Hospital.

Born in Christiansburg, Va., he served in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict. A charter member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church, he cofounded and served as the first president of the Northside Little League and retired as an engineer with Sperry Marine, all in the Charlottesville’s area.

Son of the late William Howard and Lucille Clarke Collins, he was also preceded in death by brothers, Freddie, John and Billy and sister Marie. Surviving are his children, Renee Collins, Scott Collins, Lisa Wood, Jeff Collins and Brian Collins; a brother, Ernest Collins; a sister, Peggie Ann Wilburn; seven grandchildren; and a special friend, Grace.

The family suggest that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Myositis Association (www.myositis.org). The family will receive friends at the Horne Funeral Home, Christiansburg, Va., from 10 until 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 6, 2008.
