amem_lighthouse2.jpgAmy Clarise Dowdy Collins, 54, of Christiansburg, Va., went to God’s Kitchen on Wednesday, March 17, 2010. She was born on March 15, 1956, in Oakland, Calif. She was preceded in death by her father, Gerald Eugene Lebbert.

She was an avid baker, antique collector, and loved cats and lighthouses.

She is survived by her husband, Mark Collins; daughter, Jessica Dowdy Aydlette and husband, Josh, of Goose Creek, S.C.; stepson, Joseph Gusler, of Christiansburg, Va.; mother, Florence Lebbert, of Oakland, Calif.; sisters, Louise Gaston and husband, Michael, of Bend, Ore., and, Margherite Lebbert and husband, Ron Palkhivala, of Alameda, Calif.; nephew, Robert Lebbert, of Alameda, Calif.; cousin, Steve Ockenfels, of Baltimore, Md.; pets, Obo and Bunny; and numerous other family and friends.

A memorial service will be held 6 p.m. on Monday, March 22, 2010, from the chapel of Horne Funeral Home with Pastor David Hurd officiating. The family will receive friends on Monday from 4 until 6 p.m. in the Horne Funeral Home.
