Coleman, Sue Spratt
Sue Spratt Coleman, of Dublin, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, February 9, 2012. She was born in Little Rock, Arkansas. Sue was preceded in death by her parents, Tom Gannaway Spratt and Marion S. Painter, second father, Clarence Painter, brother, Bill Spratt, son, Arthur Linden, and daughter, Nancy Lee, and grandsons James Arthur and William Andrew. Sue is survived by her husband, Morgan Morton Coleman, sister, Margaret S. Little, and is the beloved mother of Morton Morgan of Richmond, VA, Katrina (Kitty) Doolittle of Pulaski, J. Bruce of Phoenix, AZ, C. Andrew (Andy) of Lancaster, PA, Tom Spratt of Leesburg, VA, and John H. of Austin, TX. She is also the much loved grandmother of eight grandsons and fourteen granddaughters. Sue had a passionate belief in people and a love for teaching, feeding, and doing for others. Sue retired from Bland County Public Schools as a teacher of Learning Disabled students. She was a life-time active member of Christ Episcopal Church, she began and lead the New River Valley Compassionate Friends, taught GED classes, was an avid cook and canner, and is well remembered for her wonderful ice cream sauce. Funeral services will be held Sunday February 12, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at Christ Episcopal Church. Interment will follow in Oakwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday evening, February 11, 2012 at Seagle Funeral Home from 6 until 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial donations to Christ Episcopal Church, P.O.
