Cole, Virginia Burton

Virginia Irene Burton Cole, 75, of Pulaski County, departed this life Friday morning, March 1, 2019 at her home. Born in Giles County on April 3, 1943, she was a daughter of the late Early and Ida Palmer Burton. She had been employed as a receptionist in a medical office; and was a member of Riverview Baptist Church in Ripplemead. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her sisters Mary Alice Burton and Marjorie Burton.

She leaves to cherish her memory her husband of 55 yrs Don William Cole; her sons and daughters-in-law Charles E. and Kim Cole of Newport, David W. Cole and Jessica St Clair of Christiansburg, and Mark A Cole of Pulaski; her brothers Danny Burton and wife Jennifer of Rocky Gap and Donnie Burton of Pearisburg; her grandchildren Mark Jr. Cole, Kristen Slate (Adam), Haley Cole, Amy Cole, Anna Cole, Thomas Cole, Faith Cole, Teo Cole, Michael Cole, Martina Cole, and Cindy Cole; and one great-grandchild Lexie Price.

Funeral services will be conducted Monday, March 4, 2019 at 12:00 noon in the Kendall Funeral Home, 605 Snidow St., Pembroke with Pastor Shahn Wilburn officiating. Burial will follow at 2:00 pm in The Southwest Virginia Veterans Cemetery in Dublin, VA. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour before the services.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Ronald McDonald House or God’s Pit Crew.
