Cole, Roger Dale

Roger Dale Cole, 61, of Christiansburg, died Wednesday, April 18, 2012, at Skyline Nursing and Rehab. He was born in McCoy on June 17, 1950, to the late Daily and Lucy Vaught Cole. Roger was an active member of the Montgomery County Moose Lodge for over 20 years. Roger worked as a painter in the construction business in this area for over 30 years. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Wendy Linkous and Wesley Wolfe, of Riner; sister and brother-in-law, Rita “Cindy” and Norman Morris, of Christiansburg; brothers and sisters-in-law, Martin Vaught, of Blacksburg, Doyle and Linda Vaught, Haven and Suzie Cole, Marshall and Darlene Cole, all of Christiansburg, Gene Cole, of Radford; grandchildren, Matthew Linkous, Lacie Wolfe, Josie Wolfe, all of Riner. He is also survived by his former wife, a special person, Rose Mary Sheppard, of Blacksburg; special friends, Julie Reed, William Linkous, Jennifer East, Cindy Perdue, Melinda Goodwin. The family would like to thank all the nurses and staff at Skyline Nursing and Rehab for all their loving care and attention during Roger’s illness and stay there. Funeral services will be conducted at 7 p. m. Friday, April 20, 2012, in the McCoy Funeral Chapel, with the Rev. Everette Shepherd officiating. Interment will be 11 a.m. Monday, April 23, 2012, in the Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Christiansburg. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Roger’s name to help with the at need expenses at McCoy Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at the McCoy Funeral Home, 150 Country Club Drive, SW, Blacksburg.
