Cole, Dorothy Gray

Dorothy Gray Cole, 89, of Fairway Street in Pearisburg, departed this life Friday evening, November 2, 2007 at Highland Ridge Health Care in Dublin.

Born in Giles County on July 14, 1918, she was a daughter of the late John Henry and Sheilor Whittaker Morris. She attended Riverview Baptist Church and was retired from the twisting department at Celanese Celco Plant, Narrows.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Walter C. Cole; a daughter, Frieda Rebecca Cole; three brothers, James, William and John H. Jr. Morris and three sisters, Arleen Johnston, Lula Morris and Mary Hetherington.

She leaves to cherish her memory, a son and daughter-in-law, Don W. and Virginia Cole of Pulaski; three grandsons, Charles, David and Mark Cole; five great-grandchildren and a sister, Bea Morris Riddle of Princeton, W.Va.

Funeral services will be conducted Monday, November 5, 2007, at 7 p.m., in the Kendall Funeral Home, 605 Snidow Street in Pembroke, with Pastor Shahn Wilburn officiating. Graveside services will be conducted Tuesday morning, 9 a.m., in Birchlawn Burial Park in Pearisburg. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m., Monday evening before the services.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to Riverview Baptist Church in Ripplemead, Va.
