Coe, Sylvia Kirtner

Sylvia Kirtner Coe, 70, of 1622 Newbern Rd., Pulaski, Va., died Thursday, December 11, 2008. She was born in Pulaski County on August 8, 1938, and was the daughter of the late Archie Kirtner and Carrie Andrews McPeak Kirtner Goad. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Malvin Kirtner, Raymond Kirtner, James Kirtner, Woody Kirtner, Riley McPeak, C.B. McPeak, and Hensel Gilbert McPeak; and her sisters, Berdie Trail, Pauline Anderson, Bessie Simms, Carol McCall; and a half brother, Fred Goad. Surviving are her husband of 51 years, Henry E. Coe, Pulaski; daughters and sons-in-law, Wanda Walters and Johnny Weiss, Pulaski, and Threasa and Kurt Copeland, Pulaski; five grandchildren, Eddie Coe and Jennifer Hodge, Pulaski, Todd Walters and Michelle Alsatt, Nashville, Tenn., Amy and David Macias, Pulaski, Eugene Copeland, Pulaski, and Holly Copeland, Pulaski; four greatgrandchildren, Erycka Macias, Emilee Macias, Rozalind Copeland, and Austin Coe; one brother, Rudy McPeak, Pulaski; two sisters, Ella Mae Goad, Pulaski, and Effie Hollins, Pulaski; beloved pet, Buzz; special friends, Genie Lovern, Patsy Taylor, Juanita DeWeese, Shirley Eden, Ott Boyd, Brian Meadows, Robbie Smith, Jerry Wilkens, and Lynn Paige; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held Monday, December 15, 2008, at 2 p.m. from Stevens Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Earl Hanks officiating. Burial will follow in the Newbern Cemetery, Pulaski County. Visiting will be Sunday afternoon from the funeral home where the family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. Arrangements by Stevens Funeral Home, Pulaski.
