Cody, Janie Meadows

Janie Mae Cody, age 66, passed away on Saturday, February 1, 2020, at the Princeton Community Hospital in Princeton, WV. Born November 9, 1953, in Narrows, VA, she was the daughter of the late James and Ethel Dalton Meadows.

Janie was of the Baptist faith and worked as a homemaker. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend who will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Bobby, and an infant brother; and her foster parents, Jerry and Nancy Lafon. Survivors include her loving husband of 30 years, Richard E. Cody of Peterstown, WV; one daughter, Nikki Cody and companion Cody Bonham of Marion, VA; one grandson, Silas, who was her reason for fighting; one step son, Ritchie Turner of Lindside, WV; step-grandchildren, Patrick, Damien, and Felicity; one sister, Mary Epperly and husband Larry of Pembroke, VA; special friends, Barbara Boothe and Sharon Broyles; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, February 5, 2020, at the Broyles-Shrewsbury Funeral Home Chapel in Peterstown, WV. Burial will follow at Peterstown Cemetery in Rich Creek, VA. Visitation will be from 1:00 PM until time of services on Wednesday at the funeral home.
