Cochran, Shirley Thomas

Shirley B. Thomas Cochran, age 85, passed away on Sunday, January 2, 2022, at her home in Lindside, WV. Born July 13, 1936, in Giles County, VA, she was the daughter of the late Sherman and Wanda Frazier Boothe.

Shirley was a devoted homemaker. She attended both the Spruce Run Church of the Brethren and the Lindside United Methodist Church. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and friend.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Glenn Thomas; her second husband, Dave Cochran; son, Dean Thomas; two brothers, Sherman Boothe, Jr. and Boyd Lee Boothe; brother-in-law, Alvin Trivett; and one infant son.

Survivors include two sons, Will Thomas and wife Connie of Lindside, WV, and Gary Thomas of Greenville, WV; three daughters, Mary McKenzie and husband Greg of Peterstown, WV, Doris Ratcliffe and husband Bentley of Pearisburg, VA, and Marie Munsey and husband George of Peterstown, WV; one stepdaughter, Dawn Lewis of Ohio; one sister, Judy Trivett of Narrows, VA; 21 grandchildren; 39 great grandchildren; her caregiver and friend, Debbie Bradley; and her little dog, Annie.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM on Wednesday, January 5, 2022, at the Broyles-Shrewsbury Funeral Home Chapel in Peterstown, WV, with Pastor Dewey Broyles officiating. Burial will follow at the Mount Hedding Cemetery in Lillydale, WV.
