Cochran, Nellie

Nellie Cochran, age 85, entered into eternal life on Tuesday, September 27, 2022, at her home. Born April 15, 1937, in Marfrance, WV, she was the daughter of the late Clinton and Fannie Cole Cochran.

We were blessed to learn from her that there was no such thing as a stranger, just someone you haven’t met yet. Those that knew her may read this and recall a talk with her that touched your heart, tickled your funny bone, or stopped you in your tracks. She was a homemaker and a beloved sister, aunt, and friend who will be missed by all who knew her.

Nellie’s spirit is carried on by her one surviving brother, Carl R. Cochran; six nieces; two nephews; and an extended family of relations and friends.

She was preceded in death by her loving parents, Clinton and Fannie Cochran; brothers, Samuel Cochran, David Cochran, Glen Cochran; and sisters, Estelle Barnette, Beatrice Wright, and Rosa Porter.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00PM on Friday, September 30, 2022, at the Broyles-Shrewsbury Funeral Home Chapel in Peterstown, WV, with Rev. Otuce P. Huffman, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at the Keaton Cemetery in Greenville, WV.

Friends (and strangers she would have loved to have met) can visit with the family from 11:00AM until time of services on Friday at the funeral home.
