Coburn, Alonzo Donald

Alonzo Donald Coburn, United States Air Force Veteran, born February 7, 1938, died at the age of 69 at his home in Alum Ridge, Va., on Sunday, December 23, 2007. He is preceded in death by his parents, Alonzo and Mandy Hicks Coburn; three siblings, Phyllis Griffith, Thomas Coburn and Juanita Coburn.

Survivors include, sons and daughterin-law, David Wayne Coburn and Donald Allen and Denise Coburn, all of Georgia; sisters, Agnes Phillips, of Floyd, Sylvia Quesenberry, of Westminster, Md., and Freda Giron, of Hanover, Pa.; brother-in-law, Ed Griffith, of Princeton, W.Va.; granddaughters, Sheena, Christin and Katelin Coburn; grandson, Brett Coburn; two great-grandchildren, all of Georgia; many nieces and nephews; special niece, Patsy Phillips; and longtime friend, Henry Akers.

Funeral services will be held at 12 noon Thursday, December 27, 2007 at the Maberry Funeral Home Chapel, Floyd, with the Rev. Michael Pugh and Donald Allen Coburn officiating. Interment will follow at White Rock Cemetery. Military Rites by Floyd VFW Post #7854 and American Legion Post #127.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until 12 noon, prior to the service at Maberry Funeral Home. Donations may be made to White Rock Cemetery. Friends may call from 8 a.m. to5 p.m. on Wednesday, December 26, 2007 at Maberry Funeral Home.
