Coale, Ellen Kirby

Ellen Kirby Coale who resided in Blacksburg, VA joined her Heavenly Father Sunday, October 28, 2018 at the age of 82. Born in Baltimore, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late S. Howard & Ellen Kirby. Ellen was an amazing woman of faith, and a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, & friend.

Ellen brought a ray of sunshine to everyone she met and knew. Her joy for life was contagious and her laughter was well known. Ellen was one of the most kind and generous people you could ever know.

She was a very accomplished woman with a significant work ethic who served her community with her whole heart. She was a humble spirit who inspired all those around her. She would not want accolades for anything, but only for others to feel loved.

Ellen is survived by husband of 59 years, Charles Coale; daughter, Marjie Lawson and husband, Tommy; sons, Roger Coale and wife, Melissa, James Coale and wife, Meaghan; along with 8 beautiful grandchildren, Thomas, Zach, Jeremiah, Jacob, Rachel, Katie, Carson, and Taylor.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 11am on Wednesday, October 31, 2018 at Blacksburg United Methodist Church with Reverend Ralph Rowley officiating. Interment will follow in the Memorial Gardens of the New River Valley, Blacksburg. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 30, 2018 from 3pm – 5pm and 7pm – 9pm at McCoy Funeral Home, 150 Country Club Dr SW, Blacksburg, VA.
