Clouse, Barbara S.

Barbara S. Clouse, 87, of Blacksburg, died January 30, 2012, as the result of Alzheimer’s disease. Barbara was born September 23, 1924, in Indiana. She was a registered nurse, and worked in Lafayette, Ind., before moving to Blacksburg in 1973. She worked part time at a local hospital and as a volunteer with the Free Clinic of the New River Valley. Barbara was an active member of the Roanoke Valley Presbyterian Church. She was a dedicated farm wife who participated in all aspects of her community. She is survived by her husband of 63 years, James P. Clouse; their children, Ellen, Jim, Susan, and Peter; their families, including seven grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter. Arrangements are with Cremation Society of VA. Burial is to be at the Moravian Cemetery in Hope, Ind., at a later date. A Memorial Reception will be held on Thursday, February 2, 2012 from 5 to 6:30 p.m. at the Roanoke Valley Presbyterian Church, 1532 Catawba Road, Blacksburg, VA 24060. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Roanoke Valley Presbyterian Church or The Free Clinic of the New River Valley, 215 Roanoke St., Christiansburg, VA 24073.
