Clemons, Darlene Suttle

Darlene Suttle Clemons, age 75, passed away on Tuesday, November 27, 2018, at her home in Rich Creek, VA. Born December 14, 1942, in Peterstown, WV, she was the daughter of the late Dorothy Suttle Ratcliff.

Darlene was of the Christian faith and was formerly employed by the Giles County Public School System. She was an extraordinary wife, mother, and grandmother. She had a passion for cooking and baking and made sure that everyone had their favorites. She will be remembered for her kindness and always putting others before herself.

In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her grandparents who raised her as a child, William and Margaret Suttle; four brothers, William, James, David, and Raymond Suttle; and four sisters, Inez Thompson, Patty Brotherton, Nedra Orr, and Bonnie Mullins.

Survivors include her loving husband of 55 years, Jackie Clemons; two sons, Mark Clemons and wife Melinda of Rich Creek, VA, and Michael Clemons of Bluefield, VA; two daughters, Sheila Clemons of Dublin, VA, and Sara Malik and husband Steven of Pembroke, VA; one brother, Bobby Suttle of Peterstown, WV; five sisters, Judy R. Elliott and husband Ronnie of Ashland, KY, Betty Cockerham of Fairfax, VA, Maxine Elitchko and Franceina Turner, both of Narrows, VA, and Eleanor Dunn and husband Joe of Peterstown, WV; three grandsons, Chad Price and wife Kari, Caleb and Benjamin Clemons; one granddaughter, Ella Malik; and one great granddaughter, Elysia Cook.

A visitation will be held from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Thursday, November 29, 2018, at the Broyles-Shrewsbury Funeral Home in Peterstown, WV.
