Clements, Betty Jane Baker

In Loving Memory of Betty Jane Baker CLEMENTS 1929 ~ 2009. Betty Jane Baker Clements passed away on October 1, 2009, in Stanleytown, Va., her home town. Betty Jane was born in 1929.

As a young woman she attended National Business College in Roanoke, where she worked for 40 years as a secretary for the Appalachian Power Company. In 1976 she married Staley Clements, of Christiansburg, who preceded her in death in 1999. In their two decades together they enjoyed a number of pursuits, especially traveling, music, community work and an extended network of friends and family in the New River Valley and beyond. Betty had a bright and cheerful manner; she kept “on the Sunny Side.” She was a loving and caring grandmother who enjoyed making a child feel special with attention, kind words and gifts.

She leaves behind four grandchildren, of Virginia and Oregon.
