Rodney Ralph Clark, 75, of Poplar Hill, VA, passed away Thursday, June 24, 2021 at his home. He was born November 22, 1945 in Fayetteville, NC, the son of the late Jasper Samuel & Marjorie McCaskill Clark.

Rodney had a strong faith in God and was happy when he was in church. He attended Shady Grove United Methodist Church. He received a degree in Chemistry from UNC at Charlotte. He retired from Celanese Corporation after 30 years of service and was currently working at Radford University in the Housekeeping Department, with 15 years of service. He was friendly, happy and generous, enjoyed Fox News, and loved to read. He enjoyed being outdoors. He is most noted as an excellent father and grandfather who was always figuring out new adventures, making time to play with the kids and giving sound advice. He taught his children that “you’re the one that chooses to be happy! Don’t let other people choose how you feel.” Whether taking the grandchildren on mountain rides, going on beach trips, or taking time to play with his family, he made many memories that they will cherish for their lifetime. Rodney was an humble man who was loved and respected by those who knew him. He will be greatly missed.

Left to cherish these memories are his loving wife of 45 years, Karen Moore Clark; his son & daughter-in-law, Jamie W. & Charlene Clark and their children, Kendall, Jonah and Laurel; his daughters & sons-in-law, Kellyn M. & Samuel Provance and daughter, Josalyn, and Kimberly W. Joshway and Scott Joshway and daughters Kylie and Abigail; his brother, Dennis Clark and his family.

A memorial service is planned for Monday, June 28, 2021 at 6:00 P.M. at Shady Grove United Methodist Church with Charles Henderson officiating. The family will receive friends on Sunday, June 27, 2021 at A. Vest & Sons Funeral Home Chapel from 2:00 P.M. until 4:00 P.M.
