Kenneth Edwin Clark, 89, of Max Meadows, Va., formerly of Rocky River and Bay Village, Ohio, died January 15, 2011. Memorial service and interment at the National Cemetery in Rittman, OH to be held at a later date.

He was born on May 7, 1921 in Cleveland, OH, son of the late William and Jennie Clark. Beloved husband for 60 years of the late Mary Agnes (nee Gorman). Mary was the love of his life, and as he would say, his one and only girlfriend.

Devoted father and best friend of Sheila (Harlan) Field of Max Meadows, VA; devoted uncle to Daniel (Bob) Clark and Gail (Borchert) Ribar; loving father to Marianne (Dave) Stretar of Rocky River, OH and Sharon (Thomas “Buzz”) Gibbons of Bay Village, OH; loving grandfather of Jason (Mary) Stretar, Allison (Joe) Arnold, Bridget Gibbons, Mike (Char) Darling, Tim Gibbons and Jenny Darling; great-grandfather of Kevin and Keira Arnold, Jameson Painter, and Katie Stretar; dear brother of Mae, Ray, Dorothy, Al, Ethel, Art, Evelyn, Vinnie and Jeanne (all deceased); loving uncle, great-uncle and great-great uncle to many.

Ken Clark was a veteran of World War II, U.S. Army, and served in the Fiji Islands, Guadalcanal and the Philippines. He was a member of the West Park Knights of Columbus and VFW Post 9693. Mr. Clark was a life-long carpenter and a member of the Cleveland Carpenters Union. He was also an inspector for the State of Ohio and worked on the construction of interstates in the late 1960’s thru his retirement in 1983.
