Clark, David Larry
David Larry Clark, 72 of Narrows, VA went to be with the Lord on Friday, January 8, 2021. Larry was born on October 6, 1948 in Niday, VA and was a son of the late Ezra Lee Clark and Margarette Walker Shrader Clark.
Larry was a 1967 graduate of Narrows High School, a 1969 graduate of Bluefield College, 1972 graduate of Carson Newman College in Jefferson City, TN and a 1975 graduate of Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth TX. He was a pastor at New Hope Baptist Chapel in Pulaski from 1976 to 1984 and retired from the Bland Correctional Center as prison Chaplain with 32 years of service. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Narrows. He was an avid fan of the Narrows Greenwave, the West Virginia Mountaineers, the Indianapolis Colts, the Atlanta Hawks and the New York Yankees.
He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Gayle Henley Clark of Narrows, two sons, Anthony B. (Tony) Clark of Narrows, Evan N. Clark of Narrows, three brothers, Richard Leon Clark (Georgia) of Decatur, IL, Kevin Lee Clark (Barbara) of Radford, Dale N. Clark (Sherry) of Pearisburg and one sister, Kathy Ross of Pembroke.
A Celebration of Life will be held Wednesday, January 13, 2021 at 2pm at the Givens – Riffe Funeral Chapel in Narrows with the Rev Doug Armstrong and the Rev Chris Brown officiating. The family will receive friends one hour before the service from 1 – 2pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the First United Methodist Church in Narrows, the American Cancer Society or to the American Heart Association.
